The Food Bioscience Research centre plays a key role in agro-industrializing Uganda as most of the centre’s activities are aligned with National Development Plan III. The Centre is a Mecca of Food Biosciences Research partnering with global centres of excellence in food analysis, Food research like CIRAD in France, CGIAR Centers like IITA, CIP, Bioversity International, and INRA.
The centre also hosts a National Food incubation and agribusiness hub making it pivotal in linking farmers, youth, and women to modern technologies in food processing and value addition and it has state-of-the-art technologies in cereal food processing and fruits and vegetable process.
From the above justification, a sustainable waste management roadmap for the centre was developed by ANZA DESIGN GROUP the centre for exemplary universal waste management practice in modern waste management at both National and global levels.
